Update for the week on June 8th...
Had great meetings over the weekend with Robert Mosebach (Angels), Cedric Hunter and Evan Scribner (Padres), and Jai.
11:25 am cdt
Mosebach continues to pace the Travs bullpen, with a 0.00 ERA, 1 Win and 3 Saves. We still have a couple of items
available from "Moose" and expect more items in a couple of weeks, including two jerseys worn during the Spring
stint with the Phillies after he was selected in the 2008 Rule 5 Draft... wonder if the Phils would like to have his 97 MPH
fastball in their 'pen right now?!?
Cedric and Evan continue to perform well at the AA level. Cedric made
a phenomenal diving grab in center Saturday night, robbing a multi-base hit and saving at least two runs...full layout and
a snow cone catch...easily an ESPN Web Gem (if ESPN covered the AA Texas League that is)!
Jai continues to struggle
after coming off a month-long DL stint, but is starting to see the ball better and make solid contact. I had the chance
to sit with a couple of scouts during Sunday's game who were impressed with Jai's approach and the tools he has in the field
and at the plate. He was credited with two errors (doubling his total for the season), but the first came on a long
fly ball that both scouts said 99% of the centerfielders they have seen would have never caught up to, let alone had a chance
for the out (the ball popped out of the glove after Jai hit the outfield wall). The second was a short-hopped throw
to first base to try and double off a runner on a long fly ball...a throw which left both scouts impressed with
the strength of the throw...off his back foot going the opposite direction from deep Centerfield! With the logjam of
outfield prospects in the Marlins organization, don't be surprised to see Jai's name frequently mentioned as the trade deadline
As far as new items go, check out the newest item from Angels' 2006 1st Round Pick Hank Conger...his
game used catchers gear from the first half of this year. Hank has provided and signed his road-game chest protector
and leg guards. Great pieces from the Angels' future catcher!

Our Starting Lineup continues to grow...
12:55 pm cdt
Had a great meeting over the weekend with Cubs' clients Justin Berg and J.R. Mathes. Both guys are having a great season,
with J.R. leading the Pacific Coast League in wins and Justin picking up with some strong relief innings after a brief rehab
of his shoulder in Arizona. We should be getting new game-used items from both guys within the next couple of weeks.
We are also pleased to welcome Mitch Moreland and Evan Scribner to our Starting Lineup. Both guys are currently
playing in the Double-A Texas League, with Mitch batting a combined .346 with 8 HR and 29 RBI between Adv.-A Bakersfield and
AA-Frisco and Evan compiling a 3-1 record with a 2.38 ERA, 8 Saves, and 24 strikeouts in 22.2 innings. Both guys are
highly rated within their own organizations and should continue to move quickly based on their stellar performances to date.
New items from Mitch and Evan should be available by mid-July. As with all of our clients, if you would like
to request an item we do not currently have available, submit your offer to Orders@beyondthedugout.net
and we will work to get the items you are looking for.
