Gardner, the first player ever drafted out of the University
of Charleston (SC), continued his stellar professional career with the 2007 Javelinas squad, finishing fifth in the league
with a .343 batting average (37 hits in 108 at-bats) and leading the league with 16 stolen bases (in 17 attempts). Gardner
was also named as a finalist for the Dernell Stenson Leadership Award.

Donald, the Cubs' 2006 Minor League Pitcher of the Year,
continued to struggle with his control during a limited stint with the Mesa squad during hte 2008 Fall League. His final
line for the shortened season was 0-0, 10.00 with 9 strikeouts vs. 13 walks in 12 innings, yielding 10 earned runs.
Donald did hold the lead in two key relief appearances for the Sox. The 2008 AFL proved to be Donald's final
appearances as a Cubs' farmhand, as he was selected early in the 2008 Rule 5 Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates and remained
on the big league roster throughout the 2009 season.
