Spring Training camp. Although a long shot to spend significant time with the big league club this Spring, the opportunity
is expected to allow Ramos to showcase the skill that made him the winningest pitcher in Long Beach State history.

The Angels' permiere shortstop prospect, Hainley
Statia, was today named the "Best Defensive Player" for the 2006 World Baseball Classic. Statia, a native
of Curacao, played for his native Netherlands team, as a warm-up for the 2006 Minor League season, when he is projected
to to start at shortstop for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in the Advanced-A California League.

Veal
opened the season with low Class A Peoria and went 5-3, 2.69 with 86 strikeouts in 74 innings and held opponents to a .179
average. Things got even better with high Class A Daytona as he finished 6-2, 1.67 with 88 strikeouts in 81 innings while
opponents hit .170 against him.
Veal, 22, was the club's second-round pick in the 2005 draft out of Pima (Ariz.)
Community College.

Gardner, rated among the Yankees' top outfield prospects after being selected in the 3rd round of the
2005 draft (University of Charleston), has been invited to participate in his first Spring Training Major League camp.
Gardner, who stole 58 bases and scored 87 runs in 118 games at Adv.-A Tampa and Double-A Trenton last season, should see significant
opportunity in the early Spring before an expected reassignment to Trenton to start the 2007 season.

Jai Miller had a career night, belting three homers
and driving in seven runs as Carolina routed host Tennessee, 12-5, on Wednesday in the completion of a suspended game. Miller, who has 11 homers, smacked a solo shot in the second
inning, drilled a two-run blast in the fourth and connected for a grand slam in the seventh. He also walked and scored in
the fifth.

(Taylor) enjoyed his finest day since joining the IronPigs, going 5-for-5 while hitting for the cycle.
Taylor had a pair of doubles, a single and a triple before his solo homer in the ninth inning tied the score at 9-9. It was
the first cycle for or against in LHV franchise history.
He had an RBI triple in the first inning, a leadoff single
in the third inning, a two-run double in the fifth and a leadoff double in the seventh. The homer, off Logan Ondusek, was
his fourth as a member of the IronPigs while the five hits pushed his average up to .286 from .247.

has been the ace for Fort Myers this season with a league-leading 13 wins through Aug. 30. The right-hander is 13-3 with a
2.61 ERA and tops the circuit with 141 strikeouts in 148 1/3 innings for the Miracle. A 2008 Midwest League All-Star, Bromberg
was also named Pitcher of the Year in 2007 by the Appalachian League. The Twins' 32nd-round pick in 2005, Bromberg
