Beyond The
Dugout, a division of C3 Sports, takes great pride in offering players and agents an alternative way
to market and sell game used equipment, maximizing returns by engaging a larger target customer base while providing the ultimate
experience in convenience by taking all the work out of the sales and marketing process for our clients. Our efforts
center around promoting the efforts and achievements of our clients and maximizing the return on their signed equipment
and memorabilia.
In addition to the sales channel provided by Beyond The Dugout, we also work through our parent company, C3
Sports, to identify and pursue all available revenue streams from marketing and promotional opportunities, including national
endorsements and event planning and promotion, for our client, agent, team, and charity partners.
|
|
|
Our company is rooted in a network of players with
whom we developed friendships in the mid-to-late 1990's. As seasons wound to a close, many of these players were
left with used equipment which they would either dispose of in the trash or give away to fans. As the popularity of
the internet, and particularly eBay™, grew many of these players began to see their equipment for sale on these auction
sites...and began to question how they could take advantage of this sales method themselves.
While
our early efforts focused on a small number of players, and were not limited to game used items, but also items they had collected
from other players during the season or during Spring Training, our “broker” business model took a new direction
with the selection of a family member, Jai Miller, by the Florida Marlins in the 2003 Amateur Player Draft. Following
Jai's first professional season, we launched a website specifically designed to market and sell Jai's game used equipment.
As word of our effort spread, we developed partnerships with some of Jai’s peers and his agent, who partnered with us
to offer our service to other clients. As our
company grew and word of our services spread, we decided to launch our first direct campaign to introduce our company to a
select group of players participating in the 2006 Arizona Fall League. This initial marketing effort resulted in a marketing
partnership with Indians' prospect and 2005 First Round Draft Pick, Trevor Crowe...a partnership which continues
to grow as Trevor fulfills his dream of playing in the Major Leagues. With the addition of Trevor, and the increasing support of Jai's teammates and agent, we re-branded
our company and "Beyond The Dugout", including the website you are visting today, officially launched in November
2006. By design, we have worked to grow slowly, relying on client referrals and partnering with agencies
across the country to offer a marketplace for players and prospects for whom other sales opportunities did not exist.
This strategy has benefitted us by allowing us to develop close relationships with not only the players who use our service,
but also their agents, many of whom have continued to recommend our service to additional clients, allowing our business to
continue its growth. Today, as it was when we first launched the new site, our focus for www.BeyondThedugout.net and www.AuthenticGameUsed.com is to provide today's professional baseball players with convenient access to the growing sports memorabilia marketplace,
while using the services our company provides to assist in the pricing, inventory management, and sales process of the items
our clients make available to fans worldwide. We are
blessed to work with a terrific group of players and agents who support our efforts in changing the way the game-used
equipment business operates. By receiving items directly from the players, agents, and teams we work with...and
being able to then offer these items to fans and collectors worldwide at fair and reasonable prices with the guarantee that
they are receiving unique, game-used items from their favorite players...we hope to continue our growth to bring more
players and fans together thru our business.

The Dugout was pleased to partner with and renew our support for The Miracle League of Arkansas, an outstanding
organization dedicated to providing disabled children and young adults throughout Arkansas and surrounding states with the
facilities and support to participate in America's favorite past time...the game of baseball. Starting Lineup client Jai Miller participated with a number of Major
and Minor League players from the Little Rock area, including 2008 American League Cy Young Award Winner Cliff Lee,
2008 American League Strikeout Leader A.J. Burnett, Dustin Moseley (Angels), Billy
Traber (Yankees), Matt Miller (Pirates), Ben Broussard (Yankees), and many others...serving
as coaches at the annual Miracle League All-Star Skills Camp, "buddies" at the annual Miracle Leaguers season finale
celebration, and special guests at the annual "Evening with the All Stars" benefit dinner and auction. Additionally, Jai, along with Starting Lineup
clients Trevor Crowe, Jordan Brown, and Brett Gardner made significant
contributions to The Miracle League thru the donation of game used items and autographed memorabilia that was auctioned throughout
the weekend, raising approximately $1500 for this worthwhile cause. Beyond The Dugout would like to offer a special thank you to our clients who participated in the event and
those who have already offered to help with future events, as we work with The Miracle League to further their mission... "Every Child Deserves A Chance To Play Baseball" Click here to see photos from the weekend's activities.

The next time the Mariners go fishing on the farm for a starting
pitcher, Triple-A Tacoma might not be the spot to cast the line. Justin Thomas has begun to turn a corner at Double-A
West Tennessee, and has the brightest future among healthy starters at either level.
Thomas, 24, began the 2008 season with three solid starts in four tries, but lost control
in May, surrendering 56 base runners in just 33 innings of work, including 20 bases on balls.
"He's got
quality stuff, but you have to throw strikes," an American League scout said after Thomas' most recent outing. "When
he does so, you see what he can do. He's getting good hitters out consistently."
The left-hander's control and command both have been up and down since he made
his professional debut four summers ago, but his past three starts give cause for excitement. Thomas issued just five bases
on balls in 22 1/3 innings, and tossed a complete-game, five-hit shutout at Huntsville on June 8 while striking out 10 not
walking a batter.
"I caught
that start, too," the scout said. "I was there to see Huntsville, the Brewers' affiliate, who have three high-end
bats in their lineup in Alcides Escobar, Matt Gamel and Matt Laporta. All three will play regularly in the big leagues, and
Thomas made them all look pedestrian. Very impressive. My notes were supposed to be on them, but he kind of stole the show."
The Mariners
have long believed in Thomas' abilities, but the command problems and a bout with shoulder pain last season have held
up his development. Right now, Thomas seems to be hitting his stride and putting himself into position to be called
up to the big leagues sometime in 2008.

One of the cheapest prospects
on any list, Green turned down $80,000 from the Astros as an 11th-rounder out of high school only to sign with the Angels
two years later for $1,500. He took home Double-A Texas League All-Star honors last year before taking the series-ending
loss in the Pacific Coast League playoffs. He took the biggest step forward of any Los Angeles prospect in 2007, earning
a spot on the 40-man roster. Green pounds the zone with an 86-93 mph fastball, mid-70's curve and a dastardly changeup.
His changeup graded as a 70 pitch for more than one TL scout, with late sink resembling that of a screwball. He works
quickly, pitches to contact and is efficient, spotting his stuff to both sides of the plate. He repeats his simple yet
deceptive delivery well. He's durable and hasn't missed a turn in his rotation in two years. Green doesn't
have the upside of some of the Angels' bigger arms. He gets a lot of flyball outs and can be prone to homers.
His fastball and changeup are not swing-and-miss pitches, and he already has maximized his feel for pitching. Green's
sleeper t has expired, and he has a ceiling as a reliable No. 4 starter. He'll spend 2008 in the Triple-A rotation.

Black/Gray Nike Huarache Spikes, used by Florida Marlins' prospect Jai Miller during road games for the 2007
Carolina MudCats...the Marlins' AA Southern League affiliate. Both spikes show significant wear. Jai
has signed both spikes across the toe using a Silver Sharpie and has added the inscription "3 HR in 1 Game, July
24-25, '07" in black Sharpie above each autograph (Jai was wearing these spikes versus the Tennessee Smokies
in a game that began the evening of July 24th. In his first at-bat, Jai homered. Before reaching his second at-bat,
the game was called due to rain and was scheduled to resume the following afternoon. On the 25th, in his 1st AB of the
day and 2nd of the game, Jai again homered...this time off of rehabbing Cubs' Major League starter Wade Miller!
Jai homered again in his next at-bat, recording three homeruns in one game spanning two days...possibly the first time the
feat had ever been accomplished under such unique circumstances!)
Jai signed these spikes at his home on November
25, 2007.

| Jai and Caison in Pearl, MS |
Jai, the first three sport All-State
athlete in Alabama High School Athletic history (football, basketball, and baseball) was selected in the fourth round of the
2003 MLB First Year Player/Amatuer Draft following his senior season at Selma High School in Selma, Alabama. The Marlins
were able to attract Jai away from a dual sport scholarship commitment with Stanford to play both football and basketball.
Following three seasons in which Jai struggled to learn the intricacies of the game he had focused least on during
his high school career, his baseball skills finally began to catch up with his natural athletic talent during the 2007 season
with the Carolina MudCats, where Jai batted .261 in 129 games with 14 homeruns (after hitting none in spacious Roger Dean
Stadium in 2006), 58 RBI, 12 stolen bases, and a combined on-base plus slugging percentage of .792.
Following the
2007 seaon, Jai was selected to participate in the prestigious Arizona Fall League, where scouts remained impressed with his
improvements in both offensive and defensive discipline. After the AFL season ended, the Marlins purchased Jai's
contract and placed him on the 40-man roster, leading to Jai's first invitation to Major League camp in the Spring of
this year.
Baseball America recently named Jai as one of the Marlins' Top 30 Prospects, projecting him as the
starting Centerfielder at Triple-A Albuquerque and predicting his Major League debut sometime during the 2008 season.
BA's writers said of Jai "...(Miller) took a huge step forward in 2007. The five-tool threat made strides with
his plate discipline, began to drive balls with more authority and appeared more confident in all areas of the game.
The owner of as much bat speed as anyone in the organization, Miller learned to stay back on pitches and drive the ball to
right-center. Timed at 4.1 seconds to first base from the right side of hte plate, he's still learning to use his
plus-plus speed on the bases. He has plenty of range and a strong arm in center field, though he must continue to improve
his routes and the accuracy of his throws."

Trevor was drafted in the first round
(14th overall) of the 2005 First Year Player Draft by the Cleveland Indians, following an outstanding junior season at the
University of Arizona where he hit .403 with 25 doubles, 15 triples, nine homers, 54 RBI and 27 stolen bases in 60 games on
his way to co-PAC 10 Player of the Year honors (with current Red Sox phenom Jacoby Ellsbury) and being named as a Golden Spikes
Award finalist as one of the top five overall players in college baseball (award was won by Alex Gordon, the #2 overall
pick of the Kansas City Royals).
Trevor began his professional career at Class A Mahoning Valley following
the 2005 draft, particpating in 12 games before being promoted to the Lake County Captains of hte South Atlantic League.
Trevor finished his first professional season with a late season call-up to AA Akron in the Eastern League.
Following a Major League Spring Training invitation to start the 2006 season, Trevor was promoted again to Kinston in the
Advanced-A Carolina League where he played an integral role in helping the Indians to a first half Southern Division championship
by hitting .329 with 72 hits including 15 doubles and four homers to go along with 31 RBI and 29 stolen bases in his first
60 games. After being selected for the mid-season Carolina League All-Star Game, Trevor was promoted to AA Akron for
the remainder of the 2006 season and played a key role in the Eastern League playoffs, batting .349 with 15 hits and 25 total
bases in 10 games. Trevor played for the Peoria Javelinas in the 2006 Arizona Fall League and was selected to the first
annual AFL Rising Star Showcase and was named to the AFL Top 10 Prospect list by Baseball America.
Trevor again
started the 2007 season with a Spring Training invitation to Major League camp. Assigned to AA Akron to start the season,
Trevor struggled with adjustments made in the off-season to his swing before finding his rhythm at mid-season to finish the
2007 campaign with a .259 average, 183 total bases on 134 hits with 50 RBI and 28 stolen bases. Cleveland rewarded Trevor
for his dramatic mid-season turnaround with a second invitation to the prestigious Arizona Fall League, where he played for
the Surprise Rafters.
In an effort to maximize his playing time given the Indians' depth in the outfield, Trevor opened
the 2008 season with the Akron Aeros, but Indians' personnel expects him to contribute significantly in Cleveland
before seasons end.

throws left-handed. In 2008, he was the 8th rated prospect in the Yankees minor league system according to Baseball
America, up from #10 in 2007.
He was a walk-on and 3-year starter at the College of Charleston (CoC). In
2004 he was a Southern Conference All Star. His .447 batting average was 3rd in the nation in 2005, and his 122 hits tied
for the most hits in the country. His 85 runs in 2005 is the all-time mark at CoC, and his 38 stolen bases led the Southern
Conference. He wrapped up his Cougar career as a 3rd team All-American and Southern Conference All Star, sporting a
.382/.456/.508 career line, mostly from the leadoff spot. He was drafted in the 3rd round in 2005 by the Yankees after
his junior year.
Gardner adjusted well to wood bats in 2005, and finished the season in the New York-Penn League
season ranking 5th in at bats (with 282), 2nd in runs (62), and 5th in stolen bases (19). He was a Florida State League
all star in 2006, batting .323 in 63 games with 22 RBI with the Tampa Yankees. He was 3rd in the Florida State League
in batting average, and led the league in stolen bases with 30. Gardner also was second in the league in walks with
47.In 2007, he played 54 games for the AA Trenton Thunder, though he missed time with a broken bone in his hand. In
203 at bats he stole 18 bases (tied for 5th in the league; while being caught 4 times), hit 5 triples, and batted .300 with
a .392 OBP, before being promoted to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. There, in 45 games he batted .260 with a .343 OBP, and stole
21 bases while being caught only 3 times. Through 2007, in the minor leagues he has a .288 batting average, .381 on-base percentage
(OBP), and .374 slugging percentage (SLG). He has stolen 114 bases, and been caught 22 times.
In the Fall of 2007 he played in 26 games in the Arizona Fall League, leading the league
in runs (27) and stolen bases (16), while being caught only once. He batted .343 (5th in the league), with a .433 OBP
(3rd), and ranked 3rd in walks (17). He was also named as one of the finalists for the Dernell Stenson Leadership
Award.
Gardner's legs are his strength. He's the fastest base runner in the organization, with 80
speed on a 20-80 scale, and has solid base running instincts. He's adept at picking spots, knowing when it's
more valuable to the team for him to use the threat of a stolen base to get the pitcher to throw fastballs to the heart of
the order. He has outstading plate discipline, draws a good number of walks, and uses
the whole
field while making consistent, hard contact. Baseball America rated him as having the best strike zone discipline in
the Yankees minor league system after the close of the 2006 season. His speed and excellent sense in the outfield
translate to an outstanding defensive game, among the best in the Yankee farm system. His arm is average, though fairly accurate.

Often compared to Wally
Joyner in college for his aggressive approach and fluid strike from the left side, Brown has improved his stock by winning
back-to-back league MVP awards in the high Class A Carolina and the Eastern leagues the past two seasons.
He led the CL with 87 RBIs in 2006 and the EL with a .333 batting average in 2007. Brown uses the whole field with
a compact, line-drive swing abd he wears out the opposite field. His bat speed is just average, but it plays up because
of outstanding plate discipline and pitch recognition. He has good instincts on the bases and stole 12 bases in 13 attempts
last year. He's an average defender at first base with good footwork abd reactions. The Indians praise his
leadership skills. Brown played much of the second half of 2007 with knee problems and had minor arthroscopic surgery
in September, prompting his return to first base after playing left field in 2006. Brown profiles as a first baseman
in the mold of Sean Casey or Lyle Overbay. He'll likely play most of 2008 in Triple-A.

One of the cheapest prospects on any list, Green
turned down $80,000 from the Astros as an 11th-rounder out of high school only to sign with the Angels two years later for
$1,500. He took home Double-A Texas League All-Star honors last year before taking the series-ending loss in the Pacific
Coast League playoffs.
He took the biggest step forward of any Los Angeles prospect in 2007, earning a spot
on the 40-man roster.
Green's sleeper status has expired, and he has a ceiling as a reliable No. 4 starter. He'll spend 2008
in the Triple-A rotation.

This Palm Beach
Cardinals jerseys was worn during the 2004 season by current Cardinals centerfielder Rick Ankiel...while playing as a pitcher!
This was the last jersey ever worn by Rick as he attempted to overcome his sudden lack of pitching control.
Rick gave up
pitching for good after only a few appearances in this jersey during the 2004 season...before beginning his improbable and
unbelievably successful comeback as one of the top centerfielders and power hitters in the Major Leagues.
This
jersey was purchased directly from the Palm Beach Cardinals following the 2005 season, as they cleared out old jersey inventory
to replace sets for both the Cardinals and the Jupiter Hammerheads (Caitlin Balkum was the Merchandising Director who sold
this jersey to us).
